I’ve been slowly trying to get back into running lately, and each time I think I got it, I couldn’t be more wrong. For the third time this month, I had to move back my training due to the fact that I am barely making the runs. I was only able to make 1 run out of the 3 from what was supposed to be my first week.
I wish I could’ve committed to the whole week, but I did the ultimate “no-no” the night prior to my scheduled 3 miles run. I gave in to my fiance and went out. We all know late night before a run equals to bad run or
no run at all. Of course I was unable to pull myself out of bed Thursday early enough to complete those 3 miles. Then Saturday, I could barely pull myself out of bed. By the time I forced myself, it felt like I got ran over by a train. Needless to say that run did not happen either.
Anyway, the week went a little bit like this:
Tuesday: first day of training. 2miles easy run with average Pace of 13:27 min/mile. Got those miles in before 9 Am. Very hot and humid, but there’s nothing I can do about it leaving in FL in the summer.
Wednesday: Rest day
Thursday: 3 miles scheduled, but not completed.
Friday: Rest day.
Saturday: 2 miles scheduled, not completed. Unable to pull myself out of bed. Got up late, did a little bit of home cleaning and took a few hours nap before making dinner.
I am disappointed in myself that I still cannot get back on track. I thought by now I would be easing back into my routine, but it is way harder than I ever thought possible.
This week should be a week of “Do-Over”. I pray that I will get it right this time.
What do you do to get yourself motivated and not fall off track? Please share in the comment section. I would love to hear from you. In the meantime…
Wish me luck guys
