I’ve been gone for a minute now, not only from this blog, but also from running. I just was not feeling it. I guess you could say I’m burnt out. To top it all, I’ve been experiencing lots of discomfort on the right side of my neck and shoulder. I have a feeling that it’s related to my accident from last year. It was a matter of time before this happened. I’ve felt this way before and pushed myself to keep going, but now I feel that I should allow myself a break so I don’t end up hating running, the sport that I love so much.
If you follow me on Instagram though you probably know of all the exciting things happened in my world these past couple of weeks.
I got engaged to the love of my life. Now it’s wedding planning in full effect (well maybe not full effect yet). I’m still gathering ideas and all. Probably won’t start the planning until July. You might wonder why not now? What is so special July? Other great news is that we are also moving to a nice little apartment on the beach on the 1st (super exciting I know). I suck at multi tasking, so I need to take care of the move first before I can focus on wedding planning.
I also have a short trip planned for the first few days of July to my home country (Haiti) for a friend’s wedding and some time in the sun (Haiti has the most beautiful beaches). Now you’re thinking I’m really crazy, how do I move and travel at the same time? I think I’m crazy too sometimes. But it has to be done.
So when I do get back, and I fix up our new place, then I can focus on wedding planning. It will be a lot of fun, I hope.
I also celebrated my birthday on the 9th. This girl right here is now 30. Yeap, the big 3-0. I am getting old, but I still get IDed when I go out, so that’s my consolation. Lol.
Anyway back to running. I think it’s time I revamp my training and work on a different plan.
I’ve been thinking if I try a different training plan and aim for 10k. It might spice things up a little bit for me and get my mind back where it’s supposed to be. I’ve already conquered the 5k distance and I know I can run up to 4 miles nonstop. It might be time I test my limits some more and work on 10k distance. I know this will be super challenging, so if you guys have any tips, please don’t hesitate to share them with me. I need all the advice that you have to offer.
I will give myself another week off running and hopefully get back on track next week.
Alright guys, I think I’m done rambling about all the excitement that happened in my life recently. Feel free to share your thoughts with me below. I love to hear from you.
In the meantime
