This is a question that I asked myself earlier this morning as I was getting ready for work.
Once again, my clock went off but I just could not bring myself to get out of bed. I’m still exhausted from the lack of rest. One might say, but today is only Monday I should be rested from the weekend. True! The weekend is supposed to be my time to recoup from the week. If you are a woman though, you might understand. When you get home from work, or on the weekends, there is still have more work to do. The weekend is when I run all my errands. I make sure my apartment is clean and prep for the week ahead. Have a significant other does not make it any easier. In the midst of it all, how do I find time to exercise and eat properly?
Lately I’ve been pulled in so many different directions that I don’t even know where to start. I now have longer work hours. I’m also expected to work weekends. I have a home to take care of and at the same time I still would like to manage my weight, keep healthy eating habits, and still have a personal life and rest. How do I do all of that without losing my mind? Is that too much to ask?
I just happened to ask the question to my boss who’s a “cross fit addict”. She works out at least 5 times a week before showing up at the office. I asked her: “How do you do it? How do you manage to work so much and still find the strength to wake up early morning and go to the gym? Her answer was so simple. She said I just do it. She told me don’t think about it, just do it. When that alarm goes off in the morning, I don’t hit that buzzer. I Get up on and do it.
Well friends that’s what I want to share with you today. If you think about it, you will find all kinds of excuses not to get it done. You will find all the reasons why staying in bed is better than working out. You’ll find all the reasons why staying on that couch is better than your gym session. Your health, your fitness should be important to you. Your fitness should be as important as showing up to work on time. Your health and fitness should be as important as taking care of your home. Your health and fitness should be more important than happy hours with the girls. If you can find time to hang out with your girls, you can most certainly find time to workout. I’m sure you can find at least 30 mins of your day to dedicate to your fitness. It can be something as simple as a walk. If you’re anything like me you’ll want to push yourself more. I like to test my legs and see how many miles I can run. I also love going for a bike rides. There are so many different and simple things you can physically do to help you improve yourself and your fitness. You first have to show up though.
So remember friends, Like Nike says: “Just do it!” When that alarm goes off, don’t ignore it; get up and work on becoming a better you”. Get your workout in and slowly but surely you will see the difference in you; not jut physically, but mentally as well.
Let me know how you’re doing!
