Since I started on my weight loss journey, I have lost a good amount of weight, but then it got stagnant. I was eating pretty much anything but counting calories that I hated doing very much. After a while I wasn’t seeing much progress. I needed something different. I read about this 28 days clean eating challenge from ladydork from Instagram and got curious. After reading her guide, I decided I could do it. It wasn’t asking me to do anything stupid like go on a liquid diet for a week or anything. The guide just stated if we eat clean and keep away from unprocessed food, we’ll see a difference in our body. I am not one to try challenges just because, but after reading the guide and going over the grocery list provided, I figured I could do it.
It became a lifestyle change for me, not a fad diet. I eat lots of vegetables, fruits, chicken, seafood (not too big on red meat) etc… I stopped eating processed food. Sugar and Sodium were the hardest for me to control, but I have a better handle on that now. My alcohol consumption is at an all time low (a glass of red wine here and there, but barely). I drink a lot of water that I generally infuse with fruits. The challenge also suggested to stay gluten free and diary free ( I thought it would’ve been hard, but super easy).
I also run 3 to 4 times a week and do some strength training 3 times a week to help me tone up. I have seen a good change in my body. I am for the first time in years under 150 lbs and my mid section is slowly but surely shrinking (happy dance). What I’m most excited about is the fact that I can keep with these eating habits, and I no longer have to count calories.
To celebrate this victory I had a big bowl of pop corn and a few sips of dissarono (counter productive I know, lol but that was my cheat meal, I deserved it).
Anyway, that was my excited post for today. What about you, how are you doing with your weight loss goals for this year?
