As my alarm went off this beautiful Saturday it took me great deal of strength and lots of pep talk to convince myself to get out of bed. After almost 2hours, I finally decided it wasn’t a smart idea to spend the day in bed. You might think I was being lazy, but I have a good excuse. My body is so tired from the long hours I’ve put in at work this past week.
All those long hours have kept me from doing what I’m supposed to do. I usually run 2 days out of the week and do my long run on Saturdays. I’ve been slacking this past week. I missed my Tuesday and Thursday run. Today I’ve decided I would get out there and do what I needed to: pain or fatigue, rain or shine.
Oh how I’ve enjoyed being out there. One thing I have to say: it doesn’t matter how tired I am, once my pre workout kicks in and I step out there nothing really matters but my feet hitting the ground. The sun was out and the heat was unbearable. I still managed to run ran 4.15 miles and a 40 minutes yoga to relax my body afterwards. The heat almost got the best of me though. Can you believe that in November we still are dealing with 90 degrees weather? I guess this is a downside of living is South Florida. One the bright side the view was beautiful. On my way back, I stopped for a few minutes and sat on the grass by the beach just to relax and soak in all the beauty surrounding me. Saturdays are usually the best day for me to be out running. I don’t have to rush back to anything. I just enjoy every step and every second I’m out running.
Running to me a therapy. Running is fun. Running makes everything better! You should try it, you might end up enjoying it just like I do.
