Did anybody say Friday? It’s Friday, It’s Friday! Doing my happy dance. I’ve been waiting on this day since Sunday. Lol! Friday means to me no work for the next two days, and being able to do everything I want, and was unable to do during the week including longer runs, rest and this time around some yoga hopefully. I already purchased a session (hoping to make it). Yay me!!!
This week has been pretty shitty on my side of town. It included lots of mood swings (my poor boyfriend, I command him for being able to deal with me sometimes. He really had it rough with me this week). I felt really uncomfortable in my skin, also experienced lots of pain (cramps). I even hurt both my knees trying to get into crow pose yesterday (ice packs are now my best friends). Don’t even get me started with the weather: heavy rains, thunderstorms, and of course our dear friend the heat. Fun right? Not at all. I am definitely hoping for better weather tomorrow since it’s supposed to be my long run day, but it does not look all that bright. Anyway…
Running this week has been close to non existent for me. Due to my female problems, I had to miss a couple of days of running (which I was very depressed about). When I was finally confident enough that no accident would occur on the run, which was yesterday, I went on the road and I sure regret doing so. They say the only bad runs, are the ones you didn’t run. In this case, I beg to differ. This was my worst run by far. It wasn’t because of my speed, or my pace, or my breathing, or anything of the kind. I almost passed out while I was running, not once, but twice. I keep asking myself what could’ve been the cause. Was it the heat? Is my body still not acclimated to the heat, or was it because of my menses? Either way, it was terrible and I felt like shit, and I wished this run never happened.
I am hoping to redeem myself tomorrow if the weather allows me to. Weather man predicts more rain and thunderstorms. We shall see. I am definitely praying for lots of sunshine (hope you can hear me God). I am also hoping I can find the time and strength to take a yoga class at my local studio. I am definitely keeping my fingers crossed. Most of all, I’m hoping I don’t pass out on the road.
I know female’s menses is kind of taboo subject when it comes to the world of sports. This is not my first time not being able to run due to having my period. It sure was my first time almost passing out though. I wonder have you ladies ever experienced anything of the kind? Have you had to skip a run day due to your period? what is your experience with this matter? The floor is open for discussion, please share.
