I often hear people say this, but only recently this little phrase really sunk in. In life you will be faced with many obstacles. Some more challenging than others. Exercising is one of them especially if you are just getting started. These obstacles cannot be faced and overcame if you don’t have the will to do so.
On many occasions I’ve told myself I wanted to lose weight. Many times I’ve started the weight lost journey. I never had what it took to keep up. I did not have the will. Without the will, when the roads gets rough, you give up. That’s exactly what I’ve done each time.
Each year we make new year’s resolution, of course one the major ones is to lose weight. For most, a few weeks within the new year, we give up because the will was never there.
You need to have a purpose. You need a reason to keep going. Find out why it’s important to you, and the journey will be that much more possible. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. Maybe you want to be able to keep up with your children, maybe you want to be able to run up the stairs without feeling out of breath, maybe you want to look good in your wedding dress, maybe, maybe, maybe… the reasons are endless, but you need to know your “WHY”. My main reason was to fit into my old clothes and be able to wear a bikini (might sound vain to some, but that’s what I wanted). Whatever it is, you should identify it first then find the motivation because that’s the only thing that will keep you going when you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Trust the process and results will slowly follow.
